Trainee technical assistant, ITV Sport (The Roger Pearce Traineeship)

Working hours: 37.5 per week, including a mix of evenings, weekends, and weekdays to accommodate the demands of production. Time off in lieu will be provided, consistent with department policies.
Location: White City, London with office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This role involves frequent travel and limited office time due to outside broadcasting and studio work.

This is a unique entry-level opportunity for tech-savvy individuals who are curious about TV production.
ITV Studios is a scaled and global creator, owner and distributor of high-quality TV content. They are currently looking for a Trainee Technical Assistant to work with a successful, multi-skilled Production team. Throughout the traineeship, you will support programme production and learn about the technical production process whilst working alongside ITV Sports technical facilities providers.
Key activities
- Provide support to the Technical Director and ITV Sport Technical department.
- Assist in the Management of various Google Docs used for the planning, schedules, crew trackers, kit logistics, etc.
- Develop a firm understanding of technical documentation produced for all TX (Transmission) day requirements.
- Assist with on-site requirements & technical operations working closely with ITV Key Suppliers.
- Assist across a wide variety of technical departments onsite at OBs and Studio shows.
- You will be required to travel to Sports venues to assist your team on-site with their production.

- A strong interest in pursuing a technical career in broadcast production.
- An appreciation for sport is an advantage but not essential.
- A good knowledge and passion for technical media and new technologies.
- Excellent timekeeping, organisational and administrative skills.
- Be able to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- First-rate communication skills – dealing with people at all levels.
- Friendly and positive can-do attitude to all tasks.
- Ability to use own initiative and solve problems quickly.

- IT literate.
