An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Executive to join our Translation Rights department and support the Head of Translation Rights, Sophie Baker and Translation Rights Agent, Georgie Mellor
The role of a Translation Rights Executive centres around providing administrative support to Translation Rights Agent(s) and assisting with parts of their client list, which includes authors represented by Curtis Brown and UTA. This will include negotiating the sale of translation rights for assigned authors in various territories throughout the world. The successful candidate will need to quickly gain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of each of the client’s work and specific requirements, ensuring a high level of service.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- A passion for creating excitement around a title with an incredible pitch
- A background in Publishing, ideally within Translation Rights (helpful, but not essential)
- The ability to think strategically and innovative
- Knowledge of a foreign language is helpful, but not essential
- Great organisation skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in your work
- Ability to manage a heavy and varied workload
- In-depth knowledge of individual and international markets
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, with a great phone and email manner
- Experience with Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to learn new IT systems
- Good record-keeping and have confidence to establish and implement new systems
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines, without compromising on quality
- Experience of using social media and website CMS.
