A community centred on art, where everyone, no matter their job, helps make the experience.This is a sales role and ideal starting point into the world of commercial events at Southbank Centre; understanding the role commercial activity plays within Southbank Centre and an opportunity to progress and develop your sales skills. The commercial events team manages all aspects of commercial venue hires across Southbank Centre as well as cultivation/fundraising &amp; other internal events. We're best known to be the home of the BAFTAs, BFI Film Festival and hold graduations for most of London’s top Universities.  Main responsibilitiesEnquiries<ul><li>Manage the venue hire enquiry inbox ensuring a same day response, including distributing email enquiries to other members of the team and organisation as appropriate.</li><li>Answer the main events telephone enquiry line and distribute to team/internal departments where necessary.</li><li>Respond to venue hire, brand activation and commercial filming/photography enquiries, providing the enquirer with information on venues and date availability in a confident, knowledgeable and timely manner.</li><li>Maintain a consistently high level of customer service throughout the sales process.</li><li>Ensure all enquiry details are recorded correctly on Artifax, the events enquiry database, and rooms are correctly held where necessary.</li><li>Regularly follow up on all current enquiries to ensure all necessary systems and processes are managed and up to date.</li></ul>Sales<ul><li>Convert enquiries to confirmed business as well as proactively drive forward revenue and contribute to achieving the yearly sales target.</li><li>Monitor &amp; manage the promotion, enquiries and sales of the different spaces as advised by the commercial events sales manager.</li><li>Monitor &amp; manage commercial filming/photography enquiries via the FilmApp application portal, including providing costs, collecting information/necessary paperwork from clients, booking in site visits and contracting the shoots.</li><li>Liaise with clients to gather detailed information about their event, advise and up-sell as appropriate, until the event is confirmed.</li><li>Conduct knowledgeable and structured site visits of all spaces.</li><li>Liaise with the internal Diary Planning team to ensure venues are available for client use and can sit alongside other activity taking place across site.</li><li>Issue venue hire contracts and invoices as required.</li><li>Hand events efficiently and clearly over to the nominated Event Manager, ensuring a smooth and clear transition for the client.</li><li>Work with the commercial marketing manager to promote key spaces, maximising visibility within the industry.</li><li>Produce regular sales reports as required.</li></ul>Relationships &amp; partnerships<ul><li>Develop long term, collaborative partnerships with key clients where a mutually beneficial relationship can support the aims of the Southbank Centre.</li><li>Undertake account management for small and medium sized clients and to support the commercial events sales manager with account management for larger clients.</li><li>Assist the commercial event sales manager with entertaining prospective clients, when required.</li><li>Support Commercial Event Sales Manager in attending trade shows and exhibitions and to represent SC at networking events as required.</li><li>Develop long term relationships with all internal stakeholders</li><li>Maintain a good knowledge on key competitors and industry trends</li></ul> Knowledge, skills and experience<ul><li>Demonstrable sales experience and customer service skills in a similar sector, field or venue</li><li>An understanding of the events industry and can demonstrate transferable skills to this role</li><li>An understanding of selling an artistic venue as a commercial space</li><li>Confident and outgoing communicator both verbally and in writing</li><li>Able to build strong relationships with both our internal and external stakeholders</li><li>A positive, proactive attitude and a methodical approach with attention to detail</li><li>The ability to work flexibly, alone and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Able to balance a busy schedule of work, with deadlines and shifting demands</li><li>Numerical skills and knowledge of working to financial targets;</li><li>Demonstrable administration and IT skills</li><li>Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal working hours, if required (Time Off In Lieu is available). The successful candidate will support the Head of Design &amp; Brand in managing and planning the workload of the Design Studio, and delivering projects across the organisation.The Design Studio works across every Department of the Southbank Centre, from Marketing to Programming, Creative Engagement to Commercial. We are a busy team of nine, actively working on around 100 jobs at any one time.As Studio Manager, you will be a central component of the design team and the go-to person for internal stakeholders. You’ll be instrumental in realising a multitude of projects across the organisation, helping to facilitate great creative work, and connecting the designers to our internal clients.You will enjoy working in a fast-paced but supportive environment, and are very comfortable multi-tasking.
