The Early Careers in the Arts Internship Programme offers two distinct pathways to engage in communications, press, and events, or discover the breadth of a gallery’s operations, from exhibitions to sales. Over eight months, you’ll gain valuable skills in communications or gallery administration which can support a future career in arts, while building meaningful relationships with the team at White Cube’s London galleries.We particularly welcome applications from people who haven’t yet had opportunities to work in the art world. While a demonstrable interest and some knowledge of contemporary art and the White Cube programme are critical, we don’t expect you to have an art world network already, as this internship has been developed to help you build one. Pathway 1 -&nbsp;Communications, press and events&nbsp;A critical aspect of working in a communications department involves reading, summarising, distributing and organising press coverage, as well as researching trends, platforms, writers and publications. This pathway focuses on gaining administrative experience in these areas in a dynamic communications office responsible for promoting the White Cube brand, exhibitions and the gallery’s internationally renowned artists, via announcements, exhibitions and fairs globally.&nbsp;As part of the team, you’ll be involved in regularly reviewing and archiving media coverage, developing updates and reports, as well as supporting with press requests and compiling press kits. You’ll also join regular team meetings and support media events in the Bermondsey and Mason’s Yard galleries, including press views, photo calls and exhibition previews.&nbsp;In addition, you will work with the events department to gain an understanding of the busy White Cube calendar, including private views and special events that support each exhibition. This will include assisting with guest list management and helping the team in the delivery of events for exhibition openings. Pathway 2 - Sales, gallery operations and exhibitionsThis pathway offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across three essential areas of White Cube’s day-to-day activities:&nbsp;primary and secondary sales,&nbsp;registrars and gallery operations, and exhibitions. From supporting VIP clients during Frieze Week to assisting with exhibition planning and artist research, you’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of how a major commercial gallery operates.Over the course of the internship, you will:<ul><li>Collaborate with the&nbsp;sales team to assist with client research, help prepare artwork offer packs and PDFs, manage sales data, and learn how relationships with collectors are nurtured.</li><li>Support the&nbsp;secondary market department by conducting object and market research, compiling exhibition histories, tracking auction results, and contributing to sales presentations.</li><li>Join the&nbsp;exhibitions team in the logistical and creative process of producing shows, from budgeting and installation scheduling to preparing artist dossiers and participating in exhibition kick-off meetings.</li><li>Understand more about the operational side of the gallery and work with the registrars, supporting them with client service, shipping and logistical administration.&nbsp;</li></ul>You will also receive training in programmes like SketchUp, gain exposure to art fairs such as&nbsp;Frieze London, and contribute to a vibrant programme of monthly exhibition research designed to broaden your awareness of the contemporary art landscape. ResponsibilitiesThe philanthropy officer will be the main point of contact in the philanthropy team, primarily account managing our lower-level patrons and supporting the stewardship and recruitment of higher level donors. Alongside the delivery of our patrons scheme, they will lead on all individual giving events and manage the philanthropy team’s participation in development-wide events such as exhibition private views. The philanthropy officer also provides key administrative support to the philanthropy team, keeping track of financial reconciliation, preparing invoices, and managing accurate income data in our customer relationship management (CRM) platform Spektrix.
