Kickstart your digital content career and learn how to produce scroll-stopping content from idea to final edits.

If you are looking for an opportunity to gain work experience and a qualification, then an apprenticeship at Channel 4 might be for you.

4Studio is the home of social media content at Channel 4. This includes content that we make about, and with our TV shows and talent, content we make with our favourite brands and sponsors, or original content for social media audiences.

4Studio is based in C4’s new National HQ in Leeds and is a key component of C4’s regional strategy, creating creative job opportunities outside London and expanding the diversity of the company’s creative contribution.

We are looking for a brilliant apprentice to learn all aspects of creating original video content for a digital audience while bringing their own energy and ideas to the team. This might range from research, writing a pitch deck or assisting with edits, through to planning a shoot, working on set or helping create great ideas for new content. The ideal candidate will be wildly passionate about social video content as well as TV and film, brimming with great ideas, a can-do attitude, and a hunger to learn from the best in the business.

One of our apprentices will be assigned to assist on Channel 4 Served, our brand new social channel that produces entertaining recipe content across social media.

Key responsibilities

Assisting the Original and Branded Content Production teams, you’ll get a chance to rotate and experience different roles within the team, so your day-to-day will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting Production Team with original video creation for C4’s Social Platforms.
  • Helping to produce digital and social assets to support linear branded programming.
  • Attending location and studio shoots in runner capacity, providing production support
  • Contributing to idea development, pitching your ideas where required.
  • Learning about production process; including storyboarding, filming, logging, editing, and delivering content to schedule
  • Working with production management to learn about the production planning process, setting up shoots and content workflows
  • Liaising with other departments at Channel 4 including Marketing, Commissioning, Legal and other areas of the business where required
  • As well as coming up with the ideas, you’ll be able to follow them through to delivery – you have a base knowledge of how social content is created and want to hone your craft
  • Quality assurance & delivery of content to the Social Media Managers
  • Sourcing material for online projects, social video, pitches & briefs
  • Transcribing videos for subtitling purposes
  • Supporting the digital team in delivering a wide variety of digital projects
  • Source interesting digital inspiration to share with the team
  • Be passionate about and have an understanding of the Channel 4 remit
  • Be actively engaged in food content creation and be happy to assist with food preparation and kitchen maintenance.
