A new vacancy for a dynamic, ambitious, and highly organised assistant to the head of TV has opened within Blueprint Pictures. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a bright, pro-active, passionate person with relevant experience within the industry. We are looking for someone with a thirst for knowledge and a love of TV, who wants to get into TV development.

Blueprint Pictures is an award-winning UK-based production company specialising in high-quality film and television projects for theatrical and streaming partners across the globe. TV credits include BAFTA and Emmy winning A Very English Scandal, A Very British Scandal and, most recently, A Very Royal Scandal starring Michael Sheen and Ruth Wilson and directed by Julian Jarrold. Blueprint’s film titles include the BAFTA and Academy Award-winning titles of Martin McDonagh’s, such as Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and The Banshees of Inisherin, Autumn de Wilde’s Emma and John Madden’s beloved classic The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. The company has received eleven BAFTAS (19 further nominations), nine Golden Globes (14 further nominations), and two Academy Awards® (17 further nominations). 

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, will be highly organised, adept at multitasking, and proficient in managing a high volume of administrative duties in a fast-paced environment. They will act as the first point of contact to the Head of TV and will be able to offer support to the TV development team. There will be opportunities to grow within this role so being ambitious, pro-active, and passionate is a must. Relevant experience preferred.

 

Responsibilities

  • Administrative responsibilities (primary): managing and maintaining the diary of the Head of TV; booking travel; managing expenses; ordering supplies for the development team; booking theatre and screening tickets; booking cars / couriers; running ad-hoc errands.  
  • General responsibilities (primary): supporting the wider TV team, as well as the film and production teams, when required; liaising with IT support and troubleshooting when needed; helping the office assistant in maintaining the smooth running of the office, including taking calls and greeting guests
  • Development responsibilities (primary): reading scripts, pitches and IP and reporting on materials submitted to the team; attending theatre with particular attention to new talent; undertaking research tasks as and when required; maintaining and updating the various development logs, writer and director databases and the TV Development Slate

 

Knowledge, skills, and experience

  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills; the ability to prioritise, multitask and work proactively in a fast paced, high-pressure environment 
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; excellent attention to detail 
  • Passionate about television, with a wide knowledge and love of TV, film, and literature 
  • Friendly, approachable manner with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • IT literacy, proficiency in Google docs, Google sheets, Excel is desirable
  • Confidentiality and discretion required
