The Commissioning department is responsible for selecting and helping shape all the content we distribute on our linear channels and across our digital platforms. We do this through a mixture of commissioning and acquiring shows and films, as well as news and sports coverage.

This role will be working close with the Director of Commissioning Operations, the Head of Indie Relations, and the connected team who are responsible for developing our relationships with independent producers and creative businesses, as well as maintaining commissioning processes and ensuring we are operating as efficiently as possible.

Key responsibilities

• To provide administrative support which may include diary management, meeting minutes, travel arrangements and managing and filing expenses.
• Supporting the project management of key initiatives including, but not limited to, the Emerging Indie Fund and 4Producers Network.
• Administrative support to maintain an accurate database of suppliers and other indies.
• Working with the wider team on a range of initiatives to support suppliers.
• Assisting with the maintenance and updating of the 4Producers website and newsletter.
• Supporting the delivery of virtual and in person events and functions.
• Provide cross-functional support to other teams in Commissioning, such as the Creative Diversity team, as and when necessary.
• Ensure visitors to the team are handled appropriately.
• Research and preparation of PowerPoint presentations and other reports.

Knowledge, skills and experience

• Organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks - e.g. Planning events whether personal or for professional purposes, as well as managing work life balance, for example working whilst doing coursework/exams.
• An understanding of and a passion for Channel 4's remit
• Confirm you have Maths & English GCSE Grade C (4) or above
• Keen interest in on-screen talent and content, both linear and digital
• Basic admin and office skills, including Word, Excel and email
• Ability to problem solve and use initiative to resolve issues
• Possess a keen attitude and a willingness to learn
• To be adaptive with a flexible approach to tasks

About our apprenticeships

Our Apprenticeships are full-time, with four days per week spent working in a C4 department and one day per week completing the formal learning parts of the apprenticeship. You’ll spend 60% of your working week in your office base and 40% working from home.

• Qualification offered with this apprenticeship: Diploma in Digital Application Support at SCQF Level 6
• Length of apprenticeship: 12 Months

Am I eligible to apply?

• You must be 18 years old or over at the time the scheme starts to apply. There is no upper age limit.
• You’ll need to have a Grade C (4) or above in Maths & English GCSE
• You can’t have already completed the qualification being offered or similar at the same or higher level
