
Director of talent and outreach

Location: Hybrid, to include two days per week across two Creative Access sites in Camden and White City, London (flexible working patterns also considered.)

The role
We are looking for an ambitious and experienced individual to drive all talent, recruitment and outreach functions at Creative Access, via our ‘Access’ pillar.
You’ll be leading the Access team, who work with the UK’s top creative employers to connect our community with opportunities and unlock their potential. We provide access to hundreds of incredible paid internships and thousands of paid roles, along with free CV support and interview advice.
This vital role involves leading on all our ‘Access’ activities – from job listings on our Opportunities Board, to bespoke recruitment services for internships and permanent roles, and outreach and talent engagement at all career levels in the UK’s creative sector and beyond.
This is an exceptional opportunity to become an integral part of the Creative Access leadership team. Key responsibilities
- Strategic leadership of the Access team to deliver successful outcomes and foster excellent relationships with clients and talent. To include setting targets, monitoring progress and developing impactful and executable strategies that position and amplify Creative Access with existing and target stakeholders
- Recruitment: sourcing and interviewing suitable candidates for placement in permanent job vacancies, including negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between clients and candidates
- Outreach: Developing innovative strategies and procedures to target new under-represented audiences and increase total reach, as we ramp up our engagement in the UK Nations and Regions, and support talent at all career stages
- Listings: Overseeing the Creative Access Opportunities Board, including managing the listings process, listing packages and application tracking system
- Oversee the inclusivity and accessibility of all job ads, applications, interviews and recruitment processes, ensuring a positive and consistent candidate and client experience
- Evaluate the effectiveness of our recruitment platform methodologies and contract fulfilment by regularly monitoring and tracking analytics, data and success metrics
- Review fees structure of all recruitment functions and keep across competitor offerings and innovations
- Lead on new business approaches to build new and exciting partnerships, as well as delivering high quality account management with our existing partners
- Develop Access team members including line management and support to ensure ongoing professional development and workplace wellbeing
- Audit existing processes and systems; identifying opportunities to streamline, automate and improve; driving the optimisation and innovation of the Opportunities Board and wider candidate/client workflows, as we embrace new technologies
- Ensure effective and secure data management and compliance with regulations; lead on GDPR policy and best practice
- Work supportively and collaboratively with other members of the senior leadership team and across departments to deliver a cohesive, united approach to business activities
- Represent Creative Access externally to key stakeholders, at sector events and in the media.
Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential:
- Significant previous experience in a commercial recruitment role in the creative and/or adjacent sectors
- Excellent commercial acumen, strategic and negotiation skills
- Executional leadership skills and a track record of people management
- Demonstrable experience of building and sustaining relationships with stakeholders and colleagues to achieve organisational objectives
- Demonstrable experience developing and delivering targeted talent and outreach campaigns
- Strong technical acumen, experience of working on CRM systems and a data-driven approach to recruitment strategy formulation and decision-making
- Understanding and experience of diversity issues and best practice in inclusive recruitment
- A passion for change leadership with an ability to transform, inspire, and align a team of professionals
- A keen eye for detail and highly organised
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the latest software, platforms and AI-driven workflows being deployed in talent acquisition and applicant tracking systems, and their limitations
- An understanding of market insight, data analysis and evaluation.
