Executive producer (Music)

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 pro rata (dependent on experience)
Contract: Fixed-term contract, part-time (3 to 4 days per week)

Reduced Listening is an award-winning production company, specialising in radio and podcasts about ideas and culture. We love working collaboratively and opening windows to new worlds for our audiences. We make specialist music radio for BBC 6Music, Radio 3 and BBC Sounds, including cult shows such as Late Junction, Gilles Peterson, Dream Time and Unclassified. We also make high quality podcasts including narrative, factual, arts and entertainment podcasts along with audio drama and documentary.
The creative leader we’re seeking will oversee the production of some of our most influential music radio shows, including producing some shows. Music radio is the central part of the role, as well as additional scope for arts podcast exec'ing and idea development work. This is a hybrid role with some time each week expected in our office in Hackney, East London.
Responsibilities

Knowledge, skills and experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience of making specialist music radio for national stations (BBC preferable)
- Good knowledge of some or all of the following genres: classical, jazz, folk, roots, ambient, electronic, experimental
- Experience of team leadership
- Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills
- An ability to manage multiple projects across different timelines
- Sound editorial judgement
- Experience in both pre-recorded and live radio
- A firm understanding of UK broadcast law
- Experience of using social media to market audio (desirable)
- Experience of successfully pitching ideas (desirable)
