Job Title: HR and Office Manager

Salary: £40,000

Hours: 32 hours per week (4 days per week, full-time equivalent)

Location: On-site across SET Centres, with flexibility to work from home for specific tasks and adaptable arrangements to meet organisational needs

Contract: Permanent

SET is seeking a thoughtful, values-driven HR and Office Manager to oversee and develop our people and office systems as the organisation continues to grow.

The HR and Office Manager will oversee SET’s day-to-day HR and office systems, supporting a growing team while ensuring our internal infrastructure is transparent, scalable and people-centred. Working closely with Directors, managers and the Board of Trustees, the role will help embed best practice in employment, governance and internal organisation, upholding SET’s values, duty of care and commitment to being a fair and ethical employer.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable experience in office management and HR coordination.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills Experience improving internal systems and streamlining processes.
  • A strong working knowledge of HR practices and UK employment law.
  • A commitment to fairness, accessibility and care in the workplace.
  • Ability to work independently and confidentially.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Experience handling sensitive employee relations issues, including dispute resolution and mediation.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the charity, arts or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and HR/project management software (e.g. BreatheHR, Notion, Trello, Asana).
  • Comfortable using cloud-based systems and collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and data handling in a HR context.
  • Comfortable using, HR software and scheduling tools.
  • Confidence leading team-building initiatives or internal culture programmes.
  • Experience supporting staff wellbeing initiatives or EDI work.
