We are looking for a media sales manager to join our Publishing team co-managing media sales within the UK and EMEA for Frieze Magazine alongside the publisher.

Frieze is the world’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art, dedicated to artists, galleries, collectors and art lovers alike. Frieze comprises three magazines – frieze, Frieze Masters Magazine and Frieze Week – and five international art fairs – Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze New York, Frieze Los Angeles and Frieze Seoul. In October 2021, Frieze also launched No.9 Cork Street, a permanent space for visiting international galleries in the heart of Mayfair, London. Frieze is part of the IMG network.

Endeavor is a global sports and entertainment company, home to many of the world’s most dynamic and engaging storytellers, brands, live events, and experiences. The Endeavor network specializes in talent representation through entertainment agency WME; sports operations and advisory, event management, media production and distribution, and brand licensing through IMG; live event experiences and hospitality through On Location; full-service marketing through global cultural marketing agency 160over90; and sports data and technology through IMG ARENA and OpenBet. Endeavor is also the majority owner of TKO Group Holdings (NYSE: TKO), a premium sports and entertainment company comprising UFC and WWE.

 

Responsibilities

  • Co-Leading advertising sales in the UK and EMEA across the following products: frieze magazine, Frieze Week and Frieze’s digital offering (frieze.com, newsletter, social media)
  • Managing existing and developing new contract advertisers
  • Raising awareness and brand recognition of frieze magazine at the world’s leading commercial galleries, institutions, biennales and fairs 
  • Representing frieze at gallery dinners and openings on a regular basis
  • Work with the Publisher and Editorial team on strategy for frieze in the UK & EMEA
  • Advise on marketing and distribution requirements in the region
  • Negotiating public and client facing events to secure a growing network
  • Maintain and update the customer database to increase frieze’s network
  • Support in the research and development of advertising clients 
  • Generating publishing revenue across frieze, Frieze Week and digital offerings on frieze.com, newsletter and social media

Please note: 

  • International travel to attend Frieze fairs and events in Europe 
  • Flexibility and longer hours required 

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Excellent knowledge of the contemporary art market and its stakeholders (gallery and museum directors, communcation managers, agencies, artists, curators)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience in publishing (print and digital products) or equivalent sector
  • Client network in the UK/EMEA (particularly in London)
  • A proven track record of success in sales

  • Excellent experience in client-facing roles
  • Experience of managing a wide range of activities and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Google analytics and Adobe Products
