Join the dynamic BBC Entertainment commissioning team as a personal assistant, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting senior commissioners and ensuring the smooth running of a fast-paced, high-profile department. Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive diary management and administrative support to at least three commissioners
  • Organise meetings, events, travel, and accommodation, ensuring effective use of time and resources
  • Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Support the wider team with onboarding, expenses, purchase orders, and general office coordination
  • Collaborate with other PAs and commissioning coordinators to ensure seamless support across the department
  • Maintain efficient filing systems and manage communications, prioritising and responding as appropriate
  • Provide cover for other assistants and support for the head of genre when required


Knowledge, skills and experience

  • You will have recent experience of working with and supporting senior staff at the BBC or a large organisation. This is recent experience of working as a personal assistant and diary manager to senior level managers.
  • You will have a very high level of attention to detail and be comfortable with handling a large volume of work, juggling changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to use own initiative; be proactive and manage own time and workload, dealing with specific queries as they arise.
  • You will have experience of managing multiple diaries, working to multiple people balancing individual priorities. You will have experience of handling multiple and often conflicting requests calmly and effectively, regularly reprioritising your own and commissioners' workload to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • You will have excellent organisation and planning skills. You will have significant practical experience of gathering, reviewing and collating complex and confidential information.
  • You will have experience of developing strong working relationships and of working within a busy team supporting the workload of other personal assistants with a positive and collegiate attitude. You will be reliable and enthusiastic with proven ability to work in a team environment. You will need to work flexibly and independently, be a collaborative team player, and demonstrate a proactive and positive can-do attitude.
  • You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You will be experienced in handling confidential information and understand the pressures and sensitivities of working in a sensitive corporate environment.
  • You will have excellent IT skills and produce high quality documents and presentations. You will have extensive recent experience of Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for BBC content (desirable)
