Firecrest Films - Trainee Researcher
Firecrest Films, named the fastest growing independent production company outside London by Broadcast Magazine, is known for its award-winning documentaries and positive company culture. In July 2024, we were recognized as the best multichannel TV production company in the UK at the Broadcast Digital Awards. In 2022, we won Britain’s best small independent production company at the Edinburgh TV Festival and have been listed for five consecutive years as one of the Best Places to Work in TV by Broadcast Magazine.
Based in Govan, Glasgow, we invest in local talent and produce films that resonate globally. We specialize in premium documentaries for major UK broadcasters and streamers, with over 60 award nominations and 16 BAFTA wins, including Amazon's first BAFTA for Three Mothers, Two Babies and a Scandal. Our office, located in the historic Fairfield building in Govan—once the world’s greatest shipyard—is fully accessible with a lift, off-street parking, and great transport links. We’re also a proud disability confident employer.
Our standard work week is Monday to Friday between the hours of 09:30 a.m. and 17:30, p.m. but this might be affected by Production schedules from time to time. The majority of Productions prefer teams to work from our office, but work from home days are possible on discussion with the team. We're based in the old Fairfield shipyard, so while we are close to public transport links, such as the Subway and Bus network, there are limited food options so we'd recommend that people bring in lunch.
We also have free parking at the back of the office for anyone wanting to travel by car. The company is spread across two floors, with our Machine Room, Dub and Edit suites based on the ground floor, and our various Production teams are based in our open plan office on the first floor. There is a lift at reception to access these floors. We try and arrange social events when we can, which can be anything from arranging a lunch delivery together from the West End, to drinks afterwork to the Summer and Christmas parties.

Ricochet - Trainee Researcher
Ricochet is one of the UK’s leading production houses, trusted by broadcasters and viewers to deliver content that is as honest and witty as it is popular. Whether we’re uncovering a tough truth or a heart warming story, we do it with one golden rule: treat everyone - on both sides of the lens - with total respect.
Part of Warner Bros Discovery but with our own distinct identity, we’re based in Brighton and Glasgow and are proud to be part of the nations and regions television community. We have produced high quality factual, entertainment and daytime programmes for broadcast by every major network in the UK, many of which are successfully exported to the US and the rest of the world. Recent successes include The Repair Shop, Food Unwrapped, World’s Most Dangerous Roads, Guz Khan’s Custom Cars and New Lives in the Wild. Meanwhile hits produced in the Glasgow office include The Bidding Room, The Sun, Sea and Selling Houses, Repair Shop on the Road and Food Unwrapped.
We take great care of the programmes we make and the people that make them. In Brighton you’ll find us regularly heading for a post-work sea dip (dry robes are essentially our office uniform), while in Glasgow we’re fuelled by an endless supply of Tunnock’s Teacakes and the occasional office ceilidh.
Our office hours are 9.30 till 6, but we also operate a summer working hours during the summer months when employees start slightly earlier in exchange for finishing after lunch on a Friday (where their workload will allow). While we don’t have formal working from home arrangement our teams are generally able to work from home 1 or 2 days a week. We ask that people spend Monday, Tuesday and one other day in the office.
