
Training manager

Salary: £35,000-£37,000 subject to experience
Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (typically 09:30-17:30)
Location: Hybrid – minimum of two days per week in the office

The Thrive team at Creative Access works to support individuals from historically under-represented groups to thrive in the creative economy through career development, support, mentoring and training for individuals, as well as providing training for employers to help them build inclusive cultures.
We’re looking for a new training manager to form an important part of our Thrive team, by leading our training offer for partners. You’ll work with employers across the creative industries and beyond to develop high-quality inclusive training programmes which support their DEI aims, nurturing successful partnerships which support our mission.
Role objectives
- To oversee the innovation, development and delivery of our employer training which includes diversity & inclusion, mental health & wellbeing and line management training for organisations across the creative industries
- To grow our employer training programme, proactively researching, marketing and pitching the offer to new and existing partners
- To work closely with other Programmes Managers within the Thrive team to develop and deliver training as part of our mentoring and career support programmes for individuals from historically underrepresented groups
- To support and add value to the wider activities of Creative Access, including our objectives to support more candidates and employer partners in the nations and regions, and to engage with AI & emerging technologies inclusively and responsibly.
Responsibilities
- Respond to new business enquiries and meet with organisations across the industry to identify and provide solutions for their training needs
- Nurture good relationships with our existing employer partners, ensuring effective account management and repeat business
- Build strong relationships with our pool of freelance trainers – including providing regular feedback, addressing any improvements required
- Oversee the administration of our training offer through Salesforce, our CRM system
- Monitor training impact and work with the Thrive Assistant to feed impact data back to employer partners
- Lead on the effective marketing and promotion of our training offer in collaboration with our marketing & communications team
- Programme regular online open workshops which offer a supportive environment for learning, reflection and relaxed conversation
- Oversee the innovation and development of our training offer by keeping up to date with the latest research and trends
- Lead on the development and delivery of new training themes in line with employer partner requirements
- Facilitate training sessions – this may be sessions for employers or as part of our career support programmes, Springboard and Thrive
- Plan and deliver the internal training calendar for the Creative Access team working closely with the CEO to identify team training needs
- Oversee workload and development of Thrive Assistant
- Work collaboratively with all team members across Creative Access to support the organisation’s mission to ensure a wholehearted approach to diversity, equity and inclusion
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Proven experience of developing, managing and delivering training programmes and/or events
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication skills, including confidence to effectively liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to liaise with internal and external trainers to plan & develop sessions
- Experience of facilitating learning and training independently (or desire to build this skill)
- Experience of one or more of the following: generating new business, account management, working with commercial partners
- Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the creative industries and passion for inclusive learning
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a problem-solving approach to challenge
Desirable
- Knowledge of and/or interest in emerging technologies
- Experience working with and/or knowledge of creative hubs across the UK

Holiday entitlement: 23 days per calendar year, plus statutory English Bank holidays, the days between Christmas and New Year, and one day for your birthday (pro-rated for part-time staff). An additional days’ leave is accrued for each year of service.
Hours of work & hybrid-working: Standard working hours for the Thrive team are 09:30 – 17:30 Monday to Friday. We operate a hybrid-working with a minimum of two days per week in either our White City or Camden offices. The post-holder will be expected to assume duties outside of working hours on occasion (including evening work) to support the delivery of the role and operation of the organisation. We operate a time off in lieu (TOIL) policy and are open to discussing flexible terms.
