JOB PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with a small production team to produce short-form, original food content for social media channels

  • Experience making food focused entertainment content a bonus.
  • You would ideally be familiar with the Ofcom code and broadcast regulations so that you don’t waste your time on great ideas that turn out to be illegal.

  • You’ll need experience of working to strict budgets and timelines.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable editorial experience and strong editorial judgement.
  • Must have a good knowledge of all areas of social food video content creation, from idea development to how to shoot beautiful food shots, planning and executing a truly social-first video edit to timely delivery.
  • Have an eye for set dressing to enhance visual appeal of food content.
  • Strong desire, and ideally experience, appearing on camera, alongside producing and video editing.
  • You’ll be an expert with Premiere Pro and, ideally, After Effects.
  • You should be technically proficient with a wide range of digital production techniques and camera equipment.
  • You should be a good troubleshooter for camera, lighting and sound equipment, and multicamera shoots in general.
  • You’ll have a good understanding of camera profiles, formats, lenses, composition, and know the workings of data wrangling, ingestion and distribution.
  • You’ll be able to turnaround topical food content quickly and to the required standard to allow us to jump on trends.
  • A skilled video editor, with a good understanding of social food content trends and techniques.
  • A strong awareness of best practices across multiple platforms is vital, including how to deliver assets to a variety of technical specifications.
  • You’ll need to be familiar with health and safety procedures for food productions.
  • Experience of working for a broadcaster, social publisher brand or in an agency environment.
  • This role will require the applicant to work evenings and weekends from time to time as productions require.
  • Proven experience of establishing close working relationships (will be required to build relationships with C4’s departments) and able to communicate with differing departments to meet differing demands.
