We’re looking for creative and strategically minded YouTube assistant producer to join the BBC children’s and education department to work on the development of original YouTube (YT) video and content formats for kids. This is an exciting opportunity to craft engaging content and develop strategies that amplify our BBC children’s brands and talent to kids on the world’s biggest video platform.
You’ll be part of a creative and groundbreaking team at the forefront of developing, piloting and commissioning high impact content and formats designed for the digital native “YouTube” generation. We are on a mission is to grow our brands and talent on YouTube and BBC iPlayer, drive reach and communicate the value of the BBC to existing and new audiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and produce original engaging YT format ideas and content briefs for BBC Children’s and Education YT channels, aligning with brand tone, editorial values and ensuring it is compliant for 0-12 year olds
- Set up shoots and oversee editing of pilot formats and ‘taster’ videos to trial performance and support commissioning briefs
- Deliver content strategies focused around YT Kids product features such as live streaming, shows and shorts
- Collaborate with brand owners, marketing and social media teams to develop content proposals that sit cohesively within multiplatform promotional and campaign strategies
- Use YT analytics, performance data and audience research to understand content performance and trends and stay on top of platform updates, providing actionable insights to innovate our output
- Support management of our YouTube channel, including scheduling, search engine optimisation (SEO) and performance tracking
Knowledge, skills and experience
- A digital creative with strong editorial knowledge and passion for children’s content and audiences
- Knowledgeable about YouTube products and features, it’s algorithm, SEO best practices and analytics tools
- Able to interpret data and audience research and translate it into actionable, creative and strategic decisions
- Highly organised, self-motivated and comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experienced in content production and can ideally self-shoot and edit
