We’re on the lookout for Consumer PR and Social Media Interns to join our successful team on the “Splendid Futures” programme.

You'll engage in a structured induction process to ensure you’re exposed to every aspect of the role. These are some of the things you’ll get stuck into:

  • Drafting copy for team communications, shorter press materials and social content
  • Picking up the phone and selling stories and content ideas for your clients to journalists and influencers
  • Logging media coverage, image rights and where relevant, social analytics and helping your team to report back on results
  • Organising and helping to deliver media and influencer mailers including going out to shops in London to buy samples, managing sample deliveries and liaising with couriers
  • Assisting with events, including researching of costs and logistics where needed
  • Taking part in brainstorming and learning how to generate creative ideas for the agency and clients
  • Presenting your thoughts and ideas to your team (including at our weekly Splendid Loves informal ideas sharing session)
  • Working with your mentor and career development manager to regularly review your progress and learning, ensuring you get the best out of your Splendid experience

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Consumer PR and Social Media and a good understanding of what both involve
  • Genuine passion for food, drink and other lifestyle/cultural areas like music, art and entertainment
  • Passion for reading a range of print and online editorial media, social and digital news updates and following content from lifestyle influencers
  • Understanding and enthusiasm for how the most popular social media channels work, with some knowledge of how brands use them
  • Strong skills in written and spoken English communication
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality work
  • Able to take responsibility for actions and meeting deadlines with a can-do attitude

This role is open to those with and without previous experience in media relations, social media, content creation, events and/or production (experience is useful but not essential).

First interviews will be taking place in early August (these will be virtual) and the second stage in person interviews will take place on 30 August. The internship will start on 20 September.

The roles will be based in our Splendid office in East London, so applicants will need to be able to attend the workplace throughout the week (although there may be an option for one day per week to be worked from home ).

Many of our interns have been successful in securing a permanent role with Splendid after the initial internship period. For this reason, please only apply if you’ve finished studying or aren’t committed to another job and can consider a potential role directly after the internship.

We welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented in the creative industries.

Please state in your application that you found this role through Creative Access.
