Turn your passion for social media into hands-on experience creating content, spotting trends and supporting digital campaigns for some of the world's best-known brands.

We are IGNITE. The creative and social hub that supports Grayling and Cirkle. We have a brilliant and diverse team of social media experts, strategists, researchers, data analysts, designers, creatives, consultants, and producers who we bring together to create powerful simple solutions, that create advantage for our clients. From the UK’s most loved pubs to energy suppliers powering the future, iconic snack brands to leaders in paint and colour - a role with IGNITE means breadth, experience and growth.

We’re looking for someone who is properly into social media. Not just someone who spends time on TikTok or Instagram, but someone who notices what is happening on them. The creators taking off. The formats suddenly appearing everywhere. The brand post everyone is sending to the group chat. The tiny cultural shift that might become the next big thing.

As our Social Media Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience of what it is like to work in social at an agency. You’ll help us develop content, manage channels, spot trends, research creators and understand what makes audiences stop, watch, comment and share. You’ll work across a mix of well-known brands and be part of a wider team of social specialists, strategists, creatives, designers, content creators and influencers. You do not need to arrive knowing how to do everything. We are much more interested in your taste, curiosity, energy and willingness to learn.

What you'll be doing

No two days will look exactly the same, but you could be:

  • Coming up with ideas for TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn and other social platforms
  • Writing captions, post copy and content calendar entries
  • Helping to plan, schedule and publish social content
  • Filming or editing simple social-first content
  • Researching creators and influencers for upcoming campaigns
  • Keeping an eye on trends, memes, platform updates and online conversations
  • Sharing brilliant examples of social content with the wider team
  • Helping brands work out when to join a conversation and when to sit one out
  • Monitoring comments and helping us understand how communities are responding
  • Pulling together performance results and spotting what worked
  • Supporting the social channels for Grayling, Cirkle, Red and CDR
  • Helping build newsletters and other digital content using HubSpot

You’ll also be encouraged to bring your own ideas. We do not expect every thought to be perfectly formed. Sometimes the rough, strange or slightly chaotic idea is the one worth exploring.

You might be right for this role if…

  • Your saved folders are full of posts, campaigns, creators and ideas
  • You can usually explain why a piece of content is working, not just that it is
  • You are curious about what people are talking about online
  • You enjoy writing and can adapt your tone for different audiences
  • You have an interest in filming, editing, design or content creation
  • You are organised enough to keep track of details and deadlines
  • You are happy to ask questions when you do not know something
  • You like working with other people and building on their ideas
  • You are open to feedback and keen to improve

Who we are looking for

What We Care About Most…

  • You are curious about people, platforms and culture. You use social media because you genuinely enjoy it, but you are also interested in understanding why content works and how brands can show up in ways that feel natural and relevant.
  • You bring enthusiasm, fresh thinking and a willingness to get involved. You are excited to learn, comfortable sharing ideas and keen to develop your skills alongside experienced social media specialists, creatives and strategists.

You do not need years of experience. We are looking for potential, passion and a clear interest in building a career in social media. We care less about whether you know every piece of social media terminology and more about whether you are engaged, observant and excited to learn.

We want someone who has a point of view. Someone who is interested in culture. Someone who wants to understand how social media works behind the scenes and how brands can show up without feeling awkward, forced or out of touch.

You will be supported, but you will also be trusted to contribute.

What you will learn and why IGNITE?

  • You’ll work on social activity for some of the world’s best-known brands and gain experience across content, community management, influencer marketing, strategy and campaign development.
  • You’ll be part of IGNITE, our creative and strategic team, working alongside people with different skills and perspectives.
  • You’ll see how an idea moves from an early conversation to a real piece of work out in the world.
  • You’ll have space to learn, try things, make mistakes, ask questions and develop your own strengths.

We want this internship to give you more than a line on your CV. We want it to help you work out what you are great at and where you could go next. Bring your curiosity, your taste and your slightly overactive screen time. We’ll bring the briefs.
