Do you have a knack for organisation, a love of problem solving and are you a natural multi-tasker with a keen eye for detail?

We’re looking for an organised and proactive assistant to join our operations and managing editorial team on a fixed-term contract basis for approximately 10 months.

As part of the wider Penguin Random House Children’s division, Operations supports the creative teams and processes that underpin our business, making sure that all the teams are on track to get a book published, available online and in stores with all of the right information to market them well.

This role will primarily support the Editorial and Design teams, but also work closely with Marketing, Rights, Sales, Publishing Operations and Finance, so you’ll be someone comfortable working with a wide range of people on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll be responsible for things like ensuring our internal information is accurate and up-to-date, ready to share with retailers who sell our books online and in store across the world, as well as making sure our suppliers and freelancers get paid on time
  • You’ll also organise key departmental meetings; pull together presentation packs and reports, agendas, minutes and coordinate diaries

As well as experience communicating regularly on email in Outlook, confident with Word, Excel and PowerPoint (or similar applications), we’re looking for someone to become an expert on Biblio and Basware, our two key operating systems: Biblio is the main databases for all our title information and Basware is used for all our purchase requisition and invoicing needs – full training will be provided, but you’ll need to enjoy dealing with detail, data and systems.

We welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented in the creative industries.

Please make sure that you state in your application that you found this role via Creative Access.
