As a key member of our friendly production team, you will work closely with internal colleagues and external suppliers across all imprints. You will be responsible for reprints and co-editions across a wide-range of products, as well as providing essential support to the team.&nbsp; Working with us will provide you with a career that is both diverse and challenging, providing a continual learning experience.You will love books, have a great eye for detail, be numerate and exceptionally organised. You must be positive, flexible, a great communicator and both a strong team player and able to work independently. The ability to stay calm and focused under pressure is a must! Key responsibilities<ul><li>Management of backlist titles &amp; reprints –&nbsp;including confirming scheduling and pricing. Raising print orders and sending files to the printer.</li><li>Data management and organisation –&nbsp;updating the company database and providing accurate data to the business, as well as supporting the team with various in-house workflows and invoices.</li><li>General office administration and support – booking couriers, sorting parcels, recycling and filing.</li></ul> Knowledge, skills and experience<ul><li>Organisation skills and an eye for detail. </li><li>Experience working in an office environment is beneficial </li><li>Ability to stay calm and focused when dealing with competing deadlines.</li><li>A positive and flexible approach; able to work independently as required.</li><li>Communication skills and a strong team player.</li><li>Basic knowledge of the book production process is an advantage but not essential. You will also be undertaking some more general work across the Children’s Trade illustrated backlist, working on special sales and reuse projects.The junior designer will project manage and creatively guide the creation of books, making sure all books are produced to the design quality and technical accuracy required, and are delivered on schedule. Key responsibilities<ul><li>Guide and coordinate the books in line with the creative briefs, making sure all files are coordinated through the correct design approval workflow for the team.</li><li>Research, brief, layout, art edit and sign-off on a wide range of books across different formats and novelties to make the best product possible.</li><li>Make sure all files are to the technical accuracy required and to the design quality during all stages – final files, plotter and advance stages.</li><li>Research and suggest ideas for the future publishing list, showing awareness of marketplace and trends.&nbsp;Keep aware of pop culture and emerging issues.</li><li>Project-manage books in partnership with Editorial and Production, making sure key milestones are kept to and final files are supplied on time.</li><li>Liaise with and manage 3rd-party contributors, including packagers, illustrators and other freelance agents that are needed to create a project.</li><li>Problem-solve and/or escalate problems in the correct manner and in good time to allow schedules to be hit.
