Ready to break into the creative industries and start applying for real opportunities? Gain practical advice on CVs, cover letters, and portfolios so you can take your next step with confidence through these online sessions.

Are you starting out and looking to land your first role in the creative industries? Or have you gained new experience and need support showcasing it in your next application? Join our monthly online sessions, designed for those aged 16+, to receive practical advice and help strengthen your applications for creative roles.

How the monthly sessions work

These sessions take place once a month via Zoom, with the focus alternating each month between applications and interviews.

• CVs, cover letters & portfolios: Learn how to strengthen your applications, tailor your cover letters and create a portfolio that showcases your best work.
• Interviews: Learn how to prepare for interviews, tackle common questions, structure your answers and build confidence.

The sessions will alternate between these two topics each month, so you can join the session most relevant to where you are in your job search.

Each online session is designed to give you practical, hands-on advice as you prepare to apply for roles in the creative industries. You’ll hear directly from the Creative Access recruitment team, gain insight into what employers are looking for, and have the opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A.

What you will learn - interview session

• How to prepare strong interview answers without sounding scripted
• Common interview questions, including questions specific to the creative industries
• How to approach interview tasks and demonstrate your skills
• What reasonable adjustments are available and how to request them
• How to manage nerves and build confidence before and during an interview
• Insights and advice from people working in the industry

Please note: While we are unable to provide individual CV feedback to everyone, you will have the opportunity to ask questions during the live Q&A section with the recruitment team.

To sign up for the session:

• Log in to your Creative Access account or register today and click 'apply' to sign up to attend the next session.
• You will be asked to upload your CV but please feel free to upload a blank document if you are yet to make one. Please note a cover letter is not needed for this session.
