Cogs & Marvel is a creatively led experiential agency with a global footprint. Women-founded and owned in Ireland, it grew and expanded to the UK and the US through servicing large tech brands like Google and Meta. The agency leads with strategic creative thinking to deliver exceptional events and experiences on behalf of clients all over the world. These take the form of conferences, exhibitions, consumer activations, sponsorship activity, launches and more. Cogs & Marvel's work is broadly divided into three skill sets, based on relationship management, creative output and project delivery.

Our Production Intern will have the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the production process that's instrumental to delivering events on behalf of our clients. Our Production Intern role is a taster for a career path that could involve organising large and complex projects on a global scale. It's about organisation but also an appreciation for the thing being organised, a recognition that creativity needs a team of organisers to bring it to life. Our Production Intern will have the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the production process that's instrumental to delivering events on behalf of our clients.

This role is remote first, meaning there's no set mandate for in-office working. All employees are encouraged to join occasional team working days in a London office if convenient. Office spaces can also be provided in other
parts of the country if needed.

Key activities

Through working with the production team, you'll learn about all the key elements of event production workflow, including:

  • Scoping a project through budget estimating and resource planning
  • Building the necessary team to deliver a project
  • Planning for meetings and agree actions
  • Financial process: finding suppliers, onboarding them, organising their payment
  • Project planning: scheduling a project life-cycle at a high level and detailed scheduling of event delivery itself

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • An interest in events and experiential, if you are always the 'organiser' in your social group or if you find yourself thinking that 'a spreadsheet could help with something, then this could be the internship for you
  • Someone who has an interest or wonders about how it all comes together for an event, concert, show etc

What you will learn

  • You'll have the opportunity to shadow our production team as they go about producing several events: joining internal and client meetings to learn how these discussions lead to decision-making
  • You'll have the chance to take on specific project tasks such as research and financial administration to understand their contribution to the wider production
  • You'll also gain first-hand experience of event delivery by travelling with a project team to an event and witnessing how they go about their roles
