Location: Offices based at Somerset House, Strand, London WC2R 1LA (hybrid, in office Tuesday-Thursday, minimum of three days per week)

Salary: £32-35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

The Programmes Team is responsible for the development, design and delivery of the National Saturday Club’s unique framework of national events for an expanding network of Saturday Clubs across the UK (129 Clubs, 2,250 young people and 300 creative educators in 2025/26.)

The Programme Coordinator (National Events) will coordinate an annual programme of events for 13 -16-year-olds and creative educators. This programme currently consists of the Visit, Summer, Show and Graduation Ceremonies as well as the Tutors’ Programme and Youth Board.

Reporting to the Programme Manager (National Events) and working closely with the wider National Saturday Club team, you will be responsible for the core administration of the national programme, playing an active role in the production of large-scale events and exhibitions. You will work closely with a wide range of partners across universities, colleges and cultural institutions to support the development and delivery of a dynamic, forward-looking programme.

You will be a meticulously organised, positive and highly productive person, keen to work collaboratively within a small team and in fast-paced environments to deliver high-quality, large-scale events for young people and creative educators. You will have a particular aptitude for administration, communications, event-planning and operations, with strong IT skills and a high attention to detail.

The role is ideal for a candidate who is eager to further develop their expertise in producing and delivering high-quality events and exhibitions, with a particular focus on engaging young people and education-focused programmes.

Please note: Many of the national events are held on Saturdays and therefore the role requires some weekend working which is recompensed with TOIL. Some national travel for events is also required.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the administration, coordination and delivery of the national events programme, including The Visit, Summer Show, Graduation Ceremonies, Tutors’ Programme and Youth Board.
  • Support the Programme Manager (National Events) with operational planning, logistics and creative production of online and in-person events.
  • Coordinate programme administration, including expenditure tracking, research, travel and accommodation bookings, procurement, supplier liaison and event resources.
  • Act as a key link between the Programmes Team, internal departments and external partners, including universities, colleges and cultural institutions.
  • Support programme communications, including newsletters, briefings, invitations, resources and updates for the national network and wider stakeholders.
  • Use digital platforms, including Salesforce CRM and the Tutors’ Portal, to improve information sharing, programme planning and partner experience.
  • Support reporting, evaluation and research activities, including preparing materials for funders, sponsors and programme partners.
  • Contribute to wider organisational activities, including marketing, recruitment, engagement and operations, while championing accessibility, inclusion and representation.
  • Support the implementation of health and safety and safeguarding procedures for events, including risk assessments, incident reporting and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.

Skills and experience required:

Essential

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in supporting events, exhibitions or programmes
  • Strong IT proficiency, administration and organisational skills (Microsoft Suite)
  • Excellent communication skills with a wide range of partners
  • Meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude

Desirable

  • Experience with CRM software and database management (Salesforce)
  • Familiarity with document design and video editing software (Adobe Suite)
  • Experience working with young people in educational or creative contexts
  • Previous experience in cultural or creative organisations
