
Senior POWER UP programme manager

Salary: This is a part time role, either 3 or 3.5 days per week, at a salary of £46,000 - £55,000 which pro rata will be £27,600 - £33,000 or £32,000 - £38,500.

POWER UP is an ambitious, long-term initiative which supports Black music creators and industry professionals and executives, as well as addressing anti-Black racism and racial disparities in the music sector. Co-founded by PRS Foundation and Ben Wynter and managed by PRS Foundation in partnership with Beggars Group and the Black Music Coalition, the initiative brings together several music industry partners and goes beyond solidarity, with new approaches which foster meaningful change.
We’re looking for someone passionate, proactive and ready to help break down barriers for Black music creators, industry professionals and executives through our award winning POWER UP Programme.
Key tasks and areas of responsibility
- Strategic planning and development Work with the CEO, Board and POWER UP’s Executive Steering Committee to develop, review and deliver POWER UP’s strategic objectives.
- Lead planning and oversee implementation of the POWER UP Programme’s timeline, including Participant deadlines, selection, capacity building support and related events with input from colleagues.
- Oversee evaluation and monitoring of impact, reach and diversity of the Programme and ensure that the team produces high quality reports for all partners with sign-off from the CEO.
- Liaise with the Senior Grants & Programmes Manager to ensure that the POWER UP timeline fits annual PRS Foundation timeline planning.
- Maintain overall awareness of music industry and funding developments in the UK whilst maintaining an understanding of the barriers facing participants.
Person specification
- We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable self-starter who is passionate about new music across all genres with particular expertise and relationships in Black music communities across the UK.
- You will be passionate about breaking down barriers for Black music creators and executives.
- You will have experience of working in the music industry and an understanding of talent development, plus the importance of targeted action to affect meaningful change.
- You will be able to work effectively in a busy, hands-on role.
- You will have a strong track-record as a manager of teams or projects with a keen attention to detail.
- You will have a broad and up-to date knowledge of music industry developments and challenges for artists, songwriters, producers and industry professionals who are seeking to develop their career and break through glass ceiling barriers.
