Friday 27 November: selected candidates must be available in person for an Assessment Day at our King's Cross office on this date. W/C 7 Dec: the five successful candidates will be selected and notified during this week.

Start date: The start date of the Origins programme will be Tuesday 12 January and the programme will run until Thursday 8 July.

The Programme

Origins is an inclusive talent development programme created by Organic, supported by Havas, in partnership with a collection of film and television industry organisations, to create an access point into - and pathway through to - the film & TV PR industry via an invaluable placement at our multi-award-winning agency. The 2027 placements will be across our Publicity and Influence departments.

Origins is open to all but especially welcomes people who may be underrepresented in terms of ethnicity, socio-economic background, and disability or who are facing significant barriers to employment, who dream of having a career in the film and television industry.

The role:

Our Origins programme will provide you with the grounding and the connections you need to set you off in your career. You’ll be one of a cohort of five who will embark on a 6-month placement with our award-winning teams across Publicity and Influence.

Origins is designed to equip you with the practical skills and learning that you need to launch you into a career in film and/or TV publicity. A passion for television and film is essential and excellent organisation and good communication is key. You will need to be good at multitasking. You’ll need to have strong attention to detail, a can-do attitude and an enthusiasm for forming and developing good relationships both internally and externally - with colleagues, clients, press and industry contacts.

Technical note: if sending video or audio files, please include a download link to your file in your application email from a file sharing service such as WeTransfer, Google Drive or Dropbox, preferably without a download expiration. If sharing as an email attachment, please make sure it's less than 10MB to ensure we receive it.

Things to note:

  • You need to be over the age of 18 on the start date of the programme.
  • You need to be based in the UK for the duration of this programme.
  • The role is 5 days a week, 9.00am – 5.30pm (UK Publicity and Influence) and 9.30am - 6pm (Global Publicity)
  • We operate a hybrid working policy. This placement requires you to be in our office in King’s Cross, London for a minimum of 3 days a week.
  • Travel costs to and from the office must be covered by you, although we can provide an interest free travel loan if needed.

What You Will Do

You will work closely with project teams within each department to help support on campaigns. You will be trained in the following (including but not limited to):

Publicity

  • Searching for coverage daily in newspapers, magazines and online
  • Compiling PR reports & coverage books for the team to send to clients
  • Coordinating screenings (booking screening rooms, collating RSVPs, covering screenings, gathering press reactions).
  • Writing and sending out press releases and asset launches to our media database
  • Distributing screener links to media
  • Compiling and distributing newsletters and monthly media bulletins
  • Prepping materials for press events and premieres
  • Coordinating logistics for press events e.g. booking cars, groomers, hotels etc
  • Assisting in the press office at events where possible
  • Helping to accredit press for premieres and events
  • Asset management (stills, video clips, trailers, artwork etc)
  • Coordinating mailouts (Screeners, competition prizes, influencer drops etc)
  • Writing and pitching features to pitch to press under guidance of senior team members
  • Maintenance of mailing lists and other media databases
  • Film Festival logistics (applying for accreditation, booking cars, flights & accommodation)

Influence

  • Searching for coverage and checking creator guest profiles and utilising monitoring tools
  • Compiling coverage reports for the team to send to clients
  • Data driven analytics to support the senior team in post-campaign evaluation reports
  • Maintenance of influencer database and assisting in compiling bespoke creator lists
  • Research of creator targets for campaigns and proposals, based on data such as demographics, followers, and engagement rates
  • Coordinate logistics for creator events when handling via our team
  • Assisting at events & activations and supporting the senior team with creator guest management where possible
  • Develop relationships with creators and agencies including attending meetings between reps/creators and the team where possible
  • Prepping materials for creator events and premieres
  • Writing and pitching creator event invitations and creator commission pitches under the guidance of senior team members
  • Coordinating mailouts for creator gift drops

Who You Are

  • You’ll bring the energy – Be positive, be upbeat. It is fast paced so be prepared to keep up!
  • You’re a fast learner – You’ll need to take in a lot of information and learn on the job
  • You’re cool under pressure – Be good at staying calm even when you are juggling a lot.
  • You’re a connector – We’ll introduce you to some great people. Be open and connective
  • You read, watch, listen, view – Read the papers, watch TV, listen to podcasts, radio shows and get online. Make sure you know the media you will be working with every day
  • You’re social savvy – You should be familiar with the key social media platforms and have a good knowledge of a broad range of social content creators.
  • You’re flexible – We sometimes work out of hours in evenings and at weekends and are out and about a lot at events. If you want a 9 to 5 office job, this probably isn’t the career for you
  • There is no requirement have a degree or have previous experience to apply for this programme.

What We Will Give You
