How can Creative Access help me find a job in publishing?

The Creative Access opportunities board is a key way for you to discover and apply for that first role in publishing, or help you progress your publishing career through your next job.

Creative Access partners with employers from the publishing world to share new opportunities, from internships to jobs throughout the career pathway. Some of the publishers we work with include Penguin Random House, Hachette UK, Pan Macmillan, Bonnier Books UK, & Bloomsbury Publishing. Alongside this, we share opportunities with other literary organisations such as the talent agency Curtis Brown or the Edinburgh International Book Festival. From the global publishers, to small but mighty independents, the opportunities board is the best place to explore what's out there right now.

What are the jobs in publishing?

People often have misconceptions about the breadth of skills that are in demand within publishing. It doesn’t always mean reading stacks of manuscripts and taking out your red highlighter! The journey from creating content to connecting it with readers might involve disciplines like agenting, editorial, marketing, communications, publicity, production, distribution, right & sales.

No matter what stage of your publishing career you are at, we post new roles from entry-level internships to senior-level positions – from editorial intern to marketing executive – and everything in between.

Where can I work in UK publishing?

Reflecting where the industry is most active, many of the roles we promote are based in London but we also share publishing jobs in Oxford, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, and nationwide. Don’t forget to explore roles that are hybrid or even fully remote.
