Salary: £27,000 per annumContract: Full-time, permanent position&nbsp;Bloomsbury Children’s Design department are looking for a highly organised, motivated person to join our team.&nbsp;This supportive role is key to the smooth operation of our design department and requires a ‘can do ‘positive person, with good time management who will work with all the designers in the team. A confident communicator who will also liaise with other teams across our children’s publishing business.The role will report to the Creative Director, Children’s &amp; Education.&nbsp;Responsibilities<ul><li>Predominantly an administrative position, the role also requires some design work: Administrative tasks</li><li>Biblio admin, updating schedules statuses, design costs and the loading of front cover images (training provided)</li><li>Meeting organisation, preparing agenda, cover status grid and minuting of weekly cover meetings</li><li>Updating sales material folder with covers and spreads</li><li>Image supply and admin for book fair print and on-line catalogues</li><li>On boarding freelances</li><li>Drafting illustrator contracts Design tasks</li><li>Handling re-print requests across our children’s publishing</li><li>Converting final covers into audio covers</li><li>Converting existing book formats to paperback and board book formats</li><li>Creating pack shots</li><li>Creating holding covers</li></ul>&nbsp;Knowledge, skills and experience<ul><li>A degree (BA or equivalent) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant subject such as graphic design, publishing design, illustration, or equivalent professional experience</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft word, Excel and Acrobat</li><li>Proficient in all creative suite programmes: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator</li><li>Strong, clear, confident communicator</li><li>Practical, highly organised and committed </li><li>Proactive, helpful and time efficient</li></ul>&nbsp;The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).
