Story Films was founded in 2016 by BAFTA-winning directors Peter Beard and David Nath and has been producing premium documentaries and dramas ever since. They are known for making distinctive, creatively ambitious, high quality films with journalistic integrity. Examples of their work include ITV drama: The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe, and the BAFTA-nominated Losing It, which tackled mental health issues in Britain today.
They are excited to be looking for a researcher to join the archive team on the second series of Story films, critically acclaimed Fever Pitch: The Rise of the Premier League. The role will involve working with an archive producer, finding and managing the archive across this 4 part series about the history of the Premier League.
You'll be working with the archive producer to identify and source material to support and illustrate the series' narrative. Key activities will include using established archive libraries, diligent note keeping on all archive sources and data management.
What you will learn
- How to source and manage archives - from a number of sources including established archive libraries
- How to manage the data associated with archives and the relevant clearances
- Production workflow on a project of this sort
- How to work alongside colleagues in a team
Knowledge, skills, experience
- Competent IT skills, in particular Word and Excel
- A keen interest in football, specifically the Premier League
- Great organisational skills
- A passion for the TV & film industry
- Good eye for detail
- A can-do attitude and willingness to take on new challenges
