By working collaboratively with the local community, it creates powerful, new theatre that tackles real-world issues. Through performances and workshops, Unique Community engages diverse audiences, aiming to spark a ripple of positive change in society.Unique Community creates work across three program areas:<ul><li>Unique Youth Theatre: An open-access, free performing arts service for young people.</li><li>The Stork Project: Centred on theatre creation with migrants, this program aims to amplify their voices and stories.</li><li>DYCE (Developing Young People’s Critical Thinking &amp; Empathy): This initiative involves taking the most poignant shows developed across our services and turning them into workshops, which we tour to schools across North West London. This enables the conversations that begin in our sessions to continue beyond our walls.</li></ul>Through these programs, Unique Community strives to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those it serves, promoting inclusivity and understanding through the transformative power of the arts.This role is for someone who is curious about how a small performing arts charity functions during the devising, rehearsal and production period. The candidate will be interested in a combination of direct delivery with children, young people, and migrants, as well as the background work it takes to make theatre shows happen.Funded as part of the <a href="https://www.brentcreates.com/vibrent/" target="_blank">ViBrent initiative</a>, this placement will benefit from rotational opportunities among the <a href="https://www.punchdrunkenrichment.org.uk/projects/vi-brent-network" target="_blank">ViBrent</a>&nbsp;partner organisations. This could include mentorship and/or shadowing, and offers the opportunity to apply new skills in different environments while building a professional network that spans multiple organisations. It is committed to widening participation in the arts. Fresh Arts believes that every child should have the opportunity to participate in high quality arts education with gifted, passionate and highly trained professionals.This role is a trainee role for programmes coordinator.
