Faber & Faber is an independent publishing house celebrating its 90th year in 2019 and is proud to be part of The Independent Alliance - a coalition of sixteen independent publishers who share a common vision of original, diverse publishing, editorial excellence, innovation in campaigns and commercial success.

The Sales department is looking to recruit an Export Sales and Operations Assistant to work as part of the sales team in support of Faber and the Independent Alliance across all International territories.

The successful candidate will liase closely with the International account managers, export agents and multiple warehouses to ensure that all customer needs are met.

This is a full-time position on a permanent contract and will report to the Sales Operations Manager. The job will be based in our London office.

Responsibilities

• Preparing sales packs and sales figures
• Monitoring accounts and processing orders
• Preparing for meetings and following up on action points
• Liaising closely with the third-party Alliance publishers
• Attending book fairs and supporting the team with organising the compan presence at major book fairs.
• This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to learn about one of the most diverse and fastest-growing areas of publishing.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

• We are looking for a book lover with proven administration skills, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, a good eye for detail and strong numeracy skills.
• Previous publishing experience is not essential.
• Good working knowledge of Google mail, Excel and Word is essential.
