Job purpose
To oversee and editorially manage the department's programmes and to commission documentaries. The role involves working creatively with independent production companies and liaising internally with many departments.
 
Key responsibilities

<li>Work with the Head of Documentaries to ensure the delivery of their strategy</li>

We are seeking a social media intern to assist with our strategy to extend the reach of The Economist’s journalism on digital platforms.
The audience team is at the heart of The Economist’s strategy to ensure our digital presence becomes as strong as our print heritage. It publishes content to social media, produces a growing portfolio of newsletters and sends push alerts to our apps. It assists the Newsdesk with the management of our wider digital operation, as well as seeking opportunities to reach new audiences and increase engagement among existing subscribers.
Ever more people are encountering our journalism for the first time on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or YouTube, where our accounts have a total of nearly 60m followers. However, size is not everything and we want to do more to turn this audience into the next generation of subscribers.
This one-year fellowship is an entry-level position with a salary of £26,000. It will be based in our main newsroom in central London but with a specific remit to reach audiences in North America, while remaining true to our 179-year-old brand.
The successful candidate will be an innovative, unstoppable news-hound with an interest in, and knowledge of, current affairs, politics and finance around the world, but particularly in North America. They will have suggestions for how we can tailor our content for a uniquely American audience and knowledge of the regional media landscape. They might have some junior experience as a journalist, either through internships or perhaps for a university newsroom, or have experience in telling engaging stories on-line. Importantly, they will understand how The Economist’s brand and social-media output fit into the global media landscape—and how we cover events such as the mid-term elections, the hearings of Congress’s January 6th 2021 committee, the threat to abortion rights and the Federal Reserve’s attempts to rein in inflation.

The Senior Digital Communications Manager leads on the strategy for the LSO’s audience-facing digital communications, including the website, social media and other digital platforms. We are looking for a project manager with a passion for arts engagement and cultural outreach to oversee the pilot tour of the Art Explora Mobile Museum (MuMo), coming to the UK in Spring 2023 (6 February – 30 April 2023).
MuMo is on a mission to make great art more accessible to everyone, everywhere - across towns, villages and remote locations. MuMo is a touring exhibition truck that stops in small towns and villages across the country, offering a programme of exhibition visits and educational, participatory art workshops in partnership with schools and community groups. The programme is aimed at younger audiences but welcomes all members of the community. Since its inception in 2011 in France, MuMo has travelled to 7 countries in Europe and Africa, bringing together 130,000 visitors. For its first ever UK tour, Art Explora and MuMo will partner with a major national art collection for a 12-week regional tour in the Liverpool and Merseyside area.
The project manager will be responsible for all the aspects of the tour’s operations which is a unique opportunity to be involved in a project at the crossroads of arts and education, and deeply embedded within local communities. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience planning and delivering cultural projects, events or exhibitions. You will also share our belief in increasing access to arts and culture, and in the value of creating opportunities for people, of all ages, to engage and participate in the arts.
To achieve this, you will have a proven track record in project management, excellent organisation and communications skills, and be skilled at building relationships at all levels – with schools, local authorities, collection and artistic partners, senior stakeholders, collaborators and supporters.
 
Key responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Planning the itinerary in partnership with the national collection partner: identifying, contacting, liaising and managing tour venues and regional project partners such as schools, community centres, youth centres, leisure centres, care homes, town councils, municipal authorities, etc.</li>
<li>Managing the logistics: liaising with the transport and insurance company, confirming locations and parking for the truck, ensuring all necessary administrative steps have been taken for a smooth and safe journey (event licence, security, Health &amp; Safety measures)</li>
<li>Managing budgets: ensuring that all costs and expenses are adequately budgeted and paid on time, that invoices are processed, and the project is delivered within the allocated budget</li>

<li>Coordinating the communication and marketing campaign with the appointed PR agency, the collection partner and the appointed graphic designer and photographer: press release and preview, onsite branding material, exhibition booklet, video, photography, etc.</li>

Where in the world of OVO will I be working?
Reporting into the Lead Brand Operations Manager for the Migration Programme, the Creative Studio Senior Project Manager will play an exciting role in one of the most exceptional tasks our business has undertaken to date.
You will be project managing the delivery of brand and communications deliverables for print and digital channels within a Creative Studio Project Management team set up to support the Migration Programme. The core part of this role will be project delivery but also with an element  of process development and iteration to ensure work processes and systems which are in place run optimally and efficiently to enable the project to run in a smooth streamlined way.
The team will need to deliver a significant volume of customer communications and you will work alongside supporting the Lead Brand Operations Manager and other Creative Studio Senior Project managers to achieve this. 
You’ll have significant experience working with copywriters and designers, as well as cross-functional teams from Marketing to Product and beyond. Projects will be fast moving and have tight turnarounds, attention to detail and communication skills are imperative. You will utilise strong project management skills to ensure work is produced to brief, and to the required timings.  
This project is sophisticated in nature and you will be skilled in simplifying the complicated, communicating clearly and working at speed without compromising the quality of output.
This role will suit someone who is personable and has experience handling multiple team members and differing requirements. A calm, clear problem solver who is always ‘on it’,  you will thrive in a fast paced environment, significant experience with customer communications and services and feel at home in matrix organisations.
You will be part of a tight knit project team working purely on this change project, but you will have regular engagement with the brand and marketing team for support and guidance.  You will also be hands on with cross functional teams from marketing, tech, compliance all the way to the UX/UI community. You will need to be working at a fast but efficient pace, bringing order and clarity into a team environment. Always hands on, with bucket loads of fun. 
 
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Day-to-day proactive project management of migration projects in the Creative Studio, guidance of project progress to team and collaborators, creative resource planning, management and coordination of all project deliverables</li>
<li>Work with partners to develop creative briefs, ensuring all tasks are clearly defined for the studio creative team</li>
<li>Ensuring all creative  assets  are delivered on time and spec and escalating any risks or blockers as needed  </li>
<li>Support the Lead Brand Operations Manager on facilitating project set up &amp; admin where required; You will help handle frameworks, processes and central documentation of communications to maintain operational consistency</li>
<li>Send regular updates to the Lead Brand Operations Manager and team members on the progress of the project, escalating any risks / issues as needed</li>
<li>Participate in Creative Studio status meetings - to share updates, brief the team and resolve questions </li>
<li>Process development and iteration, ensuring all teams implement project processes and tools - identifying inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement along the way</li>
</ul>
 
 
Knowledge, skills, experience
<ul>
<li>This person will have a track record in delivering creative work for Digital, Marketing and Internal Brand teams ideally in fast paced, retailing environments</li>
<li>They will also have experience supporting a wider team with key initiatives</li>
<li>Experience in project management, ideally in house brand side, agency applicants will be considered if skills align</li>
<li>Validated experience of supporting projects that are already moving and an ability to contribute from day one. Specific experience of the project management of marketing and brand teams and their interface into wider, including digital businesses is a must.</li>
<li>Significant experience delivering high-quality customer communications and branded content across a breadth channels, platforms and mediums</li>
<li>Relish the challenge of a fast paced, matrix working environment</li>
<li>Proactive project manager used to working to tight timeframes</li>
<li>Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic</li>
