Senior editor, fiction
We have an exciting opening for a senior editor to work on our fiction list.
Nosy Crow is a multi-award winning, independent children’s publishing company based in London. We make child-focused, parent-friendly children’s books for ages 0-12.
Purpose of the job
Reporting to the head of fiction, the successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience working as a lead editor, ideally on both illustrated and non-illustrated fiction. You will work closely with authors from structural edit to proofread, and champion their titles throughout.
Key responsibilities & skills
- Excellent author and illustrator relationships
- Ability to suggest improvements to a text clearly, constructively and with tact
- Delivering books to production on time and to a very high standard
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues within the team and across other departments
- Have proven senior editorial experience with a good eye for detail
- Display excellent verbal and written communication skills
