Virtual production apprentice (WBSL Reach)

This apprenticeship is a chance to learn more about studio operations, the production pipeline, and how new technology can help to drive on-screen creativity.
Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden (WBSL) is a purpose built, state-of-the-art film and television studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200-acre secure site has half a million square feet of stage space, production offices and workshops together with an exterior filming tank, one of the largest indoor heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and a 100 acre back-lot. WBSL has some of the largest sound stages in the UK and is proving to be a very popular facility for production clients.
WB Leavesden Park, adjacent to the Studio, offers modern and flexible office space for Production Companies. The site also has its own, on-site Set Lighting & Rigging rental division, which provides the industry with state-of-the-art lighting equipment, scaffolding and production supplies for stage and location shoots. WB De Lane Lea based in Soho, London, provides state of the art facilities in audio post-production for feature films and television.
WBSL also have an onsite childcare facility available to WB employees and onsite productions called The WonderWorks.
These facilities make Warner Bros. Entertainment the only Hollywood studio to own and operate a production and post-production facility in the UK.
The job:
The Virtual Production (VP) team deliver a world leading virtual production facility to our clients as well as support and advise production partners across all elements of Virtual Production.
Working as part of the Virtual Production team, you will gain an insight and understanding of virtual production, how this new and innovate technology can benefit production, and how the virtual production stage operates at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden.
The Daily:
- Working closely with the Virtual Production teams in a dynamic studio environment, you will gain valuable experience in all aspects of production innovation across planning, production administration & stage operation
- Virtual Production
- Supporting VP teams during production and filming
- Assisting with the logging of assets and deliveries
- Shadowing technical teams
Administration
- Receiving, processing and issuing incoming queries to the relevant parties to ensure a quick and efficient resolution of queries
- Provide timely responses to our administrative needs – booking guests in, organising transport, keeping time sheets etc.
- Assist with coordinating and conducting visits to the stage
- To assist the team in the daily operation of the studios
- Meet requirements for all WBSL functions to create an effective running of V Stage
- To ensure that a high level of presentation is maintained in all areas of V Stage
- Any other duties which are appropriate to the post
- Maintaining spreadsheets with key inter departmental information
Knowledge, skills, experience
- Proven administrative and interpersonal skills
- A passion for production of scripted content
- General understanding of VFX, Virtual Production and studio production workflow and/or Game Production
- Passion about the Virtual Production landscape and the future of content creation
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, assisting several projects in various points of production (from development through delivery)
- Strong organisational skills with a proactive mentality and creative problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with office and production software such as Microsoft Teams, Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop
- Self-motivated proactive team member with the capacity to work independently
- Good communication skills
- Good research skills and the ability to draw information from various sources
The nice-to-haves:
- Previous experience of working within a fast based production environment is desirable
